No. Vindow is a light panel with a printed View in front of it. It has no pixels and doesn’t show video or moving images. Its full-spectrum LEDs (2200–6500K) light the View from behind and change through the day, which is what makes it feel like a window.
Can I change the prints?
Yes. You can swap out the scenic print anytime. Choose from our library of designs, upload your own image, or even create custom AI-generated views.
Can Vindow be mounted horizontally as well as vertically?
Yes. Vindow can be mounted vertically or horizontally. Our View library is designed for vertical (portrait) mounting, so for a horizontal installation choose Upload Your Image or Design With AI, and your View will be produced in landscape proportions.
How realistic is the effect?
Very realistic. Vindow’s LED system mimics natural daylight and shifts through the day, from sunrise to bright daylight, sunset, evening and night, creating a true “window-like” experience.

How difficult is the installation process?
Installation is simple and takes about 15 minutes. Vindow mounts with screws drilled into the wall, like a heavy mirror or a shelf. Adhesive strips and picture hooks won't hold it. Screws and wall anchors aren't included, so choose ones suited to your wall type. Then plug it into a standard outlet and connect it to your home Wi-Fi in the app. No electrician, renovation or permits needed.
How much electricity does Vindow consume?
Vindow uses about 45–55 W (Standard) or 80–100 W (Large), depending on brightness. At 12 hours a day that's roughly $3–6 a month on your electricity bill, less than running several lamps or overhead lights.
What maintenance does Vindow require?
Virtually none. Occasionally wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. The LEDs are rated for 30,000+ hours, about 7 years at 12 hours a day.

Does Vindow require a strong Wi-Fi connection?
Vindow needs a 2.4 GHz home Wi-Fi connection to run its light schedule and respond to the app (5 GHz-only networks aren’t supported). If your Wi-Fi drops, it reconnects automatically once the network is back.
Can I control the brightness and colors manually?
Absolutely. While Vindow works automatically out of the box, the companion app gives you full manual control. Adjust brightness, color temperature, set custom schedules, or switch between different lighting scenes to match your preferences or activities.
Is Vindow safe for my eyes and health?
Yes, Vindow is designed with eye safety as a priority. Unlike screens that emit harsh blue light, Vindow produces natural spectrum light that's gentle on your eyes. The gradual transitions mimic natural sunlight patterns, supporting healthy circadian rhythms rather than disrupting them.
